AWS Academy Cloud Foundations is intended for students who seek an overall understanding of cloud computing concepts, independent of specific technical roles. It provides a detailed overview of cloud concepts, AWS core services, security, architecture, pricing, and support.

Participants with a keen interest in cloud computing and professionals who seek a deeper knowledge and understanding of the fundamental cloud concepts at a foundational level.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will gain a deeper understanding on the following topics:

  • An overview of cloud concepts which includes Cloud Economics and AWS Global Infrastructure.
  • AWS core services which include compute, storage, Amazon VPC and database services, and how these services help organizations to move faster, lower IT costs, and scale.
  • AWS Security capabilities and services which include Shared Responsibility Model, Access Identity and Access Management (IAM), Trusted Advisor and CloudTrail.
  • AWS Architecting with coverage on the Well-Architected Framework and Well-Architected Design Principles, and provides an understanding of Reliability and High Availability.
  • Cloud support with an overview of AWS Technical Support Plans and Costs.
  • Deployment of web application and database on AWS infrastructure.

Certification

Participants will be awarded a certificate of completion upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.

For courses with assessment component, participants will be awarded the certification of completion upon passing the assessment. Otherwise, a certification of attendance will be issued instead upon meeting the 75% course attendance requirement.
